You can feel it in the air in Lake City and we are finally starting to see signs of spring… People are starting to get out and enjoy the warmer days. We are seeing more foot traffic in our office from visitors looking for information about summer events, where to shop, eat, and stay; so that is very exciting!
As we gear up for another engaging summer in Lake City, we encourage you to think about getting involved with one of our upcoming events. Plans are underway for Tour de Pepin, Water Ski Days, the Annual Golf Tournament, the Y-Knot Tri Triathlon, Fall Fest, and much more! It has been so rewarding for me to see our community come together to support programs and events that keep our economy strong and Lake City such an enjoyable summer destination for thousands of tourists. If you or your business is interested in learning more about how to get involved with one of these events, I would love to buy you a cup of coffee and share the many ways to support your community. The chamber, being a non-profit relies heavily on our community partners to help plan, sponsor, and execute the many events we bring to town. We are so thankful for everyone’s support and, as I always say, it truly takes a village…and I am so honored to be a part of it.
Speaking of community, I want to take a moment to thank all the workers involved with keeping Lake City residents safe while the flood waters continue to rise. Please be patient with the current street closures around Lake City and remember to stay clear of these areas so the work can be done safely, especially near the marina while trailers are being moved.
If you are a part of a service group, business, non-profit organizations, or an individual community member and want to get involved with the clean-up of Lake City after the flood waters recede, please email me at director@lakecity.org. We will be organizing and collaborating with the City of Lake City to coordinate clean-up.
Stay Safe and get ready for another FUN summer in Lake City!
Kindest Regards,
Elizabeth Greenawalt
