More details will be coming after the Governor’s Press Conference at 6 p.m. this evening, Nov. 18.

Chamber staff were in meetings today with Commissioner Steve Grove from DEED and other state officials. The details below were provided and he encouraged us to share this with our partners sooner rather than later so that you can begin making preparations if necessary.

Changes to the Stay Safe MN plan will include:

-No indoor/outdoor seating at bars or restaurants, takeout only, Food trucks are allowed.

-Entertainment venues are to close which includes movie theaters, bowling alleys, pool halls, etc.

-All organized youth and adult sports including association, club, intermural, and youth school athletics will be on pause.

-Celebration and milestone events (receptions not ceremonies) will be put on pause.

-Gyms and fitness studios are to close.

-Public pools and swim parks are to close.

The above list goes into effect at midnight this Friday, November 20th and will remain in effect through Friday, December 18th.

-Individuals will be encouraged to stay with their immediate family and not intermingle as much as possible.

-Individuals will also be encouraged to not travel out of state and to quarantine for 14 days upon return if they must travel out of state. No new changes to retail, salons, or other services at this time.

Webinar with state leaders tomorrow

Given Governor Walz’s announcement aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19 in Minnesota, leaders from the Dept. of Employment and Economic Development (DEED), Dept. of Health (MDH), and Dept. of Labor and Industry (DLI) will host a webinar tomorrow at noon to expand on new information announced this evening.
