Our Spotlight Member is J & J LIQUOR, Tammy Roschen, Manager
How many years has J & J been in business? Five. J & J is owned by the Gerkens, who also own Port 104, with whom we share the building.
What do you sell the most and when is your peak season? Beer! Craft beer is very popular now. Customers have their favorites, but they also enjoying trying new things, so we carry a large selection. Summer is our busiest time thanks to tourists and especially boaters.
Why are you a Chamber member? The Chamber does a great job of supporting local businesses and producing events that bring thousands of people to town.
What’s an interesting fact about your business that most people don’t know? We carry over 500 different kinds of wine and liquor and we inventory every week!
Do you have any advice for new business owners? Advertising is so important. Businesses that don’t advertise are not going to thrive. Customers want to know what’s on sale, what’s new, and without advertising you’re invisible.
When you’re not working, where in Lake City do you like to spend your time? I enjoy relaxing at home and being in Lake City’s quilt shops!
